MILWAUKEE (WI) Milwaukee Tool has added Bold Line and Precision Line Chalk Reels to their hand tool range. The new chalk reels feature the industry’s first planetary gear system with integrated STRIPGUARD clutch. They are designed from the ground-up to provide the longest gear life.
The current chalk reels are not durable enough to be used on job sites. Throughout our research, we saw countless broken chalk reels on jobsites namely broken gears and ripped lines. The cost of replacing chalk reels is high and users often buy new ones, which can lead to a lot of downtime. said Bobby Shaw, Director of Product Marketing for Milwaukee Tool. Chalk reels are used so often on the jobsite that it is not a good idea to consider them disposable. Through a never-before-seen gear system and proprietary clutch, weve set out to completely change the way users can expect to use their chalk reels, giving them the long-lasting durability they need to tackle all of their projects.
Unlike most chalk reels with a spur gear system, Milwaukees new chalk reels feature a planetary gear system that distributes forces evenly over three gears, putting less stress on internal components to prolong life. The exclusive StripGuard Clutch protects the gears from being snagged or applied excessive force. A premium 6:1 ratio ensures that the chalk line is quickly returned back to the reel housing. These features combine to create a reel that is more efficient and requires less replacement.
For greater strength and sharper lines, both Bold Line and Precision Line Chalkreels have braided lines. Bold Line Chalk Reels’ 1.5mm braided line allows users to take multiple clear, bold lines. Fine Line Chalk Reels’ tightly-braided,.9mm line reduces chalk spillage and creates a crisp, clean line.
All chalk reels have reinforced reel housings for added protection and durability. The reel handles are protected from movement by a flush-folding handle that prevents them from being moved during storage or when they are not in use.
